Meet the people who make Studio 18. We’ve built up a team of creatives that share our vision and design philosophy that consist of copywriters, photographers and web developers so we can build a bespoke team around your needs.
Passionate about good design and its power to deliver messages and make things happen, Jon set up Studio 18 to help business owners communicate more effectively online and offline. He thinks design for designs sake is fine in an art gallery, but not in the commercial world where it has to drive results, so expect a grilling about your audience and your objectives when you brief him!
If he has any energy left over at the end of the day, Jon likes to channel it into riding his road bike (named Lucille) or going for a run – but any health benefits from these activities are largely offset by the stress of being a Reading FC season ticket holder. A love of music – the Beatles and the Stone Roses in particular – provides creative inspiration, but verges on the dangerously obsessive.
We’ve never actually tried it, but we’re pretty sure that if we cut Mark in half, we’d find binary code running through him. A front-end web developer, Mark has extensive experience working with many different programmes including WordPress, he takes our beautiful designs and works his technical magic to turn them into fully functioning digital masterpieces that do what they’re supposed to.
If he’s not glued to his PC at work, it’s odds on that Mark’s glued to his TV at home, feeding his insatiable appetite for boxsets. We’re not sure how to help him with his addiction – he’s been known to lose a whole weekend watching an entire series of House of Cards back to back – but the way we look at it, at least he’s not harming anyone else.
There’s not much Mark doesn’t know about digital marketing. He helps our clients use it strategically to engage with their customers, create opportunities and ultimately, to transform their businesses. His extensive knowledge in this specialist area helps to inform our design, and ensure the solutions we deliver to our clients form part of an integrated digital process.
A self-confessed internet junkie, Mark’s rarely offline even when he’s at home. It’s a problem that goes back as far as the mid ‘90’s, so we don’t think there’s much hope of him kicking the habit now. It’s not his only anti-social trait – he’s also a Liverpool supporter, but given his expertise in digital marketing, it’s a shortcoming we have decided to overlook. Mark joins us from Perceptive Flow.
Mike’s skills lie in helping our clients communicate their sales and marketing messages effectively through compelling written content. Design and words need to work hand in hand with each other, and Mike creates copy that’s on brand, engaging, appeals directly to the target audience – and gets results.
When he takes time out from sharpening his pencils, it’s usually to stroke his beloved Nespresso coffee machine or go for a run. He’s always up for a Guinness, but be prepared for nostalgic ramblings about his time as a holiday rep, and his career high – working at Club 18-30. Mike joins us from Deep Marketing.
